Our household wall calendar for the month of March is a wee bit haunting. While we each have our own systems for tracking individual consultations or assignments, the calendar that awaits our kitchen is the method we track the important things all three of us need to know. Soccer practices and basketball video games. Out-of-town work meetings. Early dismissal days at school. The day the pet requires his regular monthly meds. We even buy an additional large calendar because we’ve discovered the regular calendar’s squares are too small to track our busy lives. Or, they utilized to be too little– till March took place.

The month started off typically enough, with notes about going snow tubing on the first, followed by “inequality day,” “twin day” and “character day” at my son’s school. There was an ice hockey game, dinner with a cousin, an airport pick-up. But then “mom and dad see this weekend” got crossed off. Basketball games got crossed off. A day trip to Philly to see friends, crossed off. Nearly everything written for 2 weeks’ worth of time was crossed off, one by one.

And then you turn the page … and April is almost blank, conserve for a few extended family birthdays (and the date that still notes when the pet gets his meds). In a way, it’s representative of how every day bleeds into the next right now. The utter absence of locations to go and individuals to see. And yet, there’s so much more to what we’re all going through right now that I believe we– and our kids– will wish to remember.

When we reflect on this time later on, when we tell our kids and our grandkids what it resembled to live and work and moms and dad through this pandemic, we’ll desire more than, “well … we took a great deal of strolls, see.” We’ll desire more than a calendar that, nearly over night, simply went blank.

I’ve been keeping in mind little things in my < a data-ga="[["Embedded Url","Internal link","https://lifehacker.com/the-bullet-journal-minus-the-hype-is-actually-a-reall-1786382012",{"metric25":1}]] href=" https://lifehacker.com/the-bullet-journal-minus-the-hype-is-actually-a-reall-1786382012" > bullet journal to help me remember the circulation of the days. Motion pictures I’ve enjoyed throughout my in-home elliptical workouts, suppers we’ve made, curbside takeout we have actually bought. It does not actually record the sensation of what we’re experiencing. One mom developed what she’s calling a “< a data-ga="[["Embedded Url","External link","https://letsembark.ca/time-capsule?fbclid=IwAR1ueymxobRazxja8cdKhQmG7XYMi1fMvO6VKnsTqCxHdb0O8P1halN9Evs",{"metric25":1}]] href=" https://letsembark.ca/time-capsule?fbclid=IwAR1ueymxobRazxja8cdKhQmG7XYMi1fMvO6VKnsTqCxHdb0O8P1halN9Evs" rel=" noopener noreferrer" target=" _ blank" > COVID- 19 Time Pill .”

It’s not a true time pill in which you collect a lot of items agent of this time and literally bury it in the backyard. It’s more a recording of memories and experiences; it’s part-journal, part-workbook, and part-collection of keepsakes, such as photos, paper clippings or deserted household wall calendars.
